Logo's and Business Cards M2 Part 2
Here are my three logo designs and my business card. I thought that because most likely the Inn is in the woods, I would give my design a rustic feel, but at the same time be somewhat classy. The idea of the deer is that the antlers serve to the public whatever is above them. I hand sketched my designs and turned them into vector’s which took a very long time. A lot of what I did was trial and error and hopefully I will be able to produce something more quickly with practice. I learned so much with this assignment.
As far as the colors I used, I naturally made the deer brown and per our assignment I wanted to show a highlight of the Inn during the fall season, so I added the leaves and colored them with fall colors using the gradient tool. I added the river at the bottom of the main logo because the Inn is on the Hudson River and I also referenced that on the business card with the location of the Inn being on River Road. I used two colors of green for the lettering. I used green because they are in the woods amongst a lot of trees. Besides every other color goes with the color green. I have never seen anything clash with the green grass of outdoors. The wine glass for the bar was an influence leading me to give the bar the name of the Grape Escape. I named the restaurant after the antlers on the deer, the Buckhorn. The antlers this time are serving up fish from the Hudson River, meat from the area and a fall favorite roast turkey.
I wanted a font that would go with the rustic feel of the lettering in the logo’s, but be easy to read and not too fancy, so I chose Microsoft’s Ya Hei.
